We have been embracing the SBS IRISH SPIRIT all week at St. Benilde School! Monday kicked off with #IRISHProud Day, showcasing our school colors. Tuesday brought Louisiana Spirit Day with a sweet surprise - snowballs and sunny recess fun! Wednesday was SBS Spirit Day and our students rocked their favorite SBS t-shirts. Today, Character Day let creativity shine with movie, book, and TV show character costumes. Tomorrow, it's all about Field Day showdowns! Who will claim victory: Irish, Celtics, or Hibernians? Jesus is Risen! On Wednesday, PK3 students spent time soaking in the joy of the Easter season during their weekly atrium time with our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
Our Loreto little ones had a delightful time today, spreading Easter cheer with an exciting egg hunt! Their laughter and joy filled the air as they searched for colorful eggs, surrounded by loving friends and family.
We had a special visitor at St. Benilde School today! Local author Alex McConduit engaged our students with a reading of his books, a trumpet performance, and an inspiring talk about his life as a writer. Our future authors were surely inspired!
4th grader Dean W. stepped into the role of principal for the day. His day was filled with exciting responsibilities, including assisting with the car line, supervising recess, cruising around the campus on the Duck Mobile scooter, lending a hand in the office with Mrs. Suzzan, and enjoying a delicious lunch from Raising Canes.
Our 3rd graders had a blast celebrating St. Joseph's Day at a special Italian Luncheon, lovingly put together by the St. Benilde Grandparents Club. In addition to enjoying the delicious food, they also had a great time learning about St. Joseph and his life, which added a meaningful layer to their celebration.
On St. Joseph's Day, our Pre-K4 students got together for a special event called "Donuts with Dads" to celebrate the feast of Jesus's foster father. It was a sweet and memorable day for everyone involved!
Meet Lillian M., St. Benilde School's nominee for the 23-24 Statewide Student of the Year competition! Each year, every elementary school is allowed to nominate one 5th grader as the Student of the Year for their respective school. We are honored by Lillian's remarkable representation of St. Benilde in this year's competition!
Congratulations to our remarkable St. Benilde Spellers for their outstanding performance at the New Orleans Spelling Bee hosted at Dillard University this past Saturday. SBS students RJ, Lillian, Vanessa, and Jayden demonstrated exceptional skill and determination as they competed against over 100 students from 4th to 8th grade across the New Orleans area. Our very own 4th Grader Jayden Y. achieved an impressive top 6 finish out of more than 150 participants. We are incredibly proud of all our St. Benilde Spellers for their dedication and achievement!

Great job to our St. Benilde School Choir! The choir was invited to sing the National Anthem at the NOLA Gold Rugby season opener this afternoon. The choir members did an amazing job and the NOLA Gold won their first game of the season! We are so thankful that we had this awesome opportunity!
Congrats to our SBS Boys Basketball Team! They dominated the regular season with an undefeated record, securing the well-deserved title of district champions. While Tuesday's game didn't end in victory, our boys displayed remarkable resilience, staging an impressive comeback after a challenging first half to keep it a close match. Thank you to all of the players, coaches, parents and family members who have supported our team throughout the season!
